This article documents the changes implemented for the 1982 presidential election. It preserves the exact capitalisation of the labels used in that script. Replacement values and source findings have not been independently verified for this documentation.

The code assigns 34,120 total polled votes to Walapane in
Nuwara-Eliya, replacing the 24,120 figure described in the comments. It

Walapane percentages are recalculated as follows:

The code assigns 31,145 registered electors to Teldeniya, replacing the commented value of 3,145. It assigns 564,767 registered electors to the Mahanuwara district total, replacing 536,767. Teldeniya turnout is recalculated as 100 × 27,279 / 31,145 = 87.59%, replacing the commented 867.38%.
After removing unavailable postal registered-elector rows, all
remaining missing values in Votes are replaced with zero.
The code does not apply a general zero replacement to
Percentage.
The national figures written in the script also require review: listed candidate votes sum to 6,519,705, whereas valid votes are stated as 6,522,153. Stated valid and rejected votes sum to 6,602,653, whereas total polled votes are stated as 6,602,617. These are inconsistencies in the script’s written reference figures, not verified discrepancies in the exported data.
